Under my DIY Slime Powder videos, many people suggested dissolving PVA into water and using that to make clear slime. Another YouTuber tried it first and it worked but the dissolving process took a long time. After doing some research, it turns out the best way to dissolve PVA is to place it in cold water, and slowly heat it up to near-boiling point whilst stirring all the time. That sounded like a bit too much hassle so I tried just doing it with cold water and it worked. Though you have to mix with your hands since you need to rub any lumps of PVA until they dissolve. And definitely wear gloves because it can take up to 30mins and PVA is quite drying to skin. The slime looks slightly cloudy in the clips where I'm pulling it out of the box because I took so long taking thumbnails photos and got a huge bunch of bubbles into the top layer ^_^". The pristine slime was completely transparent, although the texture was a tiny bit "grainier" than glue slime.

Please make sure you get PVA powder not PVA crystals. Crystals are larger and harder to dissolve. If you do get some by accident, you can pulverise them using a mixer or blender. Wash any utensils thoroughly with warm water and soap. And be sure to keep an eye on the quantities. The bag I used in my video was 1kg / 1000g and should cost around $20-30 when sold in bulk. Some sellers only offer 100g which is usually slightly more pricey but still effective for making slime.

*I normally don't use borax or slime activator for my DIY slimes however I do recommend it for LARGE transparent slimes (2L or more). These require much more activator and borax solution is significantly cheaper than contact lens liquid.
