7 Easy Ways To Upgrade Your Plastic Drawers

Marbled Drawers

Supplies
Drawers
Dark color nail polish
Light color nail polish
Tub of water
Small toothpick or matchstick
Decoupage glue and brush

Instructions
Drop 8-10 drops of dark color nail polish in the water.
Drop 8-10 drops of light color nail polish in the water.
Run a toothpick or the wooden end of a matchstick through the nail polish to create a marbling pattern.
Dip the front end of the drawer in the tub.
Remove the drawer after 2-3 seconds. Let dry.
After the nail polish has dried, apply a light coat of decoupage glue to the front of the drawer. Let dry.

Catalog Labels

Spray paint
Catalog labels
Super glue

Instructions
Remove the drawers from the plastic casing.
Spray paint the casing and the catalog labels using the same color. Let dry.
Put the drawers back in the casing.
Attach one label to each drawer using super glue. Let dry.

Animal Head Knobs

Plastic animal toys
Hair Dryer
Knife
Super glue

Instructions
Set the hairdryer to low heat.
Put the hairdryer about 2 in away from the center of the plastic toy.
Heat for about 30 seconds.
Quickly cut the toy in half.
Attach the head half to the drawer with super glue.

Minimalistic Leather Pull

Supplies
Drawers
Fake leather sheet
Super glue
Industrial glue
Binder clip

Instructions
Cut strips of leather about 1 in by 6 in.
Flip the leather piece wrong side up.
Apply a line of super glue about 1 inch down from the top.
Fold the other end to meet the glue. Let dry.
Attach the leather pull to the center of the front of the drawer using industrial glue.
Clean any excess glue quickly with a paper towel.
Use a binder clip to hold the pull down while it dries overnight.

Ombre Drawers

3 shades of spray paint (light, normal, dark) -- more if you have more drawers

Instructions
Remove drawers from the plastic casing.
Spray paint each drawer with a different shade. Let dry.
Reassemble.

Acrylic Paint Drawers

Acrylic paint (as many colors as you like)
Makeup sponge
Decoupage glue and brush

Instructions
Apply a few drops of paint on a makeup sponge.
Quickly dab the sponge on the front of the drawer until almost fully covered.
Put a few drops of a different color paint on the drawer.
Quickly dab with makeup sponge to blend.
Add as many coats or colors as you like. Let dry.
Apply a thin layer of decoupage glue. Let dry.

Hidden Drawers

Supplies
Drawers (must not be wider than the binder)
Old binder
Pliers
Photo frame + artwork (similar size to the binder)
Industrial glue

Instructions
Remove the rings and metal spine from the binder with pliers.
Put artwork in the photo frame.
Attach the frame to the front of the binder with industrial glue. Let dry.
Open the binder 45 degrees. Hide the drawers behind the binder!
