10 Things You Can Get Rid Of Right Now ─ BuzzFeed Nifty

Here is what you'll need!

Supplies:
Will power

Instructions:
Instructions and boxes: When’s that last time you poured over an instructions manual? Google is way faster. Take photos of any important serial numbers or codes, and then recycle them along with the empty boxes.
DVD cases: You can save an entire shelf of space if you recycle those plastic cases. Get a booklet for DVDs, or better yet, go digital.

Cords for electronics that you don’t have anymore: Get them out of your life. They are just taking up space in your drawers, and tangling themselves around the things you actually use. You can recycle them at office supplies stores, or donate them to thrift stores.
Old towels bedsheets and blankets: Getting rid of these can save a TON of space. They might be ripped, of poor quality, or maybe just smell a little funky. Check them out. If you’re saving them for guests, but in reality would never subject your guests to something so heinous, then it’s time to get rid of them. Check if a local animal shelter or veterinarian clinic would accept them.
Clothes that don’t fit: If you haven’t worn certain clothes in a year and a half, you should let them go. If you are waiting for them to fit, holding on to them for sentimental reasons, or hoping to remove a stain or fix a tear, pack them into a box or for a month and see if you miss them. Chances are you will find it easier to eliminate items once you experience life without them. Clothes can be donate to a thrift store, shelter, or a textile recycler.
Multiples: Any product that serves the same exact function as another. Hair brushes, brooms, thermoses, potato peelers, hair products, water bottles, similar scarves, slippers, mouse pads, etc. You probably keep reaching for the one you like better anyway. Give them away to friends who need them, or donate.
Pens that don’t work: Do you have one thousand pens? This includes weird colors, pens that skip, or cheap ones that you may have gotten for free that just make your pen cup look cluttered. You probably reach for the same one each time anyway.
Samples: So you got these for free, and maybe you want to keep these for guests, or for traveling. Chances are you’re going to forget about them while packing because you would rather use the products you normally use packed in travel bottles. Also, if you’ve been saving them for a while, they might be expired. Ew.
Attachments: Whether they were from the vacuum you bought 2 years ago, or the blender with all the different tops, or the electronic gadget with all the cool parts that maybe, someday, you might be in a situation that would require them... You don't need them. Stop giving them a home. Recycle them.
Books or magazines you've read: Sounds cliche, but libraries are the best! Borrow, enjoy, and return without the dust collecting. You can donate all the books you've read, and let someone else enjoy them. If the magazines are less than 6 months old, some libraries will accept them as donations. Otherwise recycle them.
