Minimalist Floating Organizer Rack ─ BuzzFeed Nifty

Here is what you'll need!

Materials
1 hardwood round dowel of your desired length
Ruler
Pen/pencil
Drill
Sandpaper
Wood stain
Old t-shirt for rag
Approx. 10 feet of strong paracord, more if your ceiling is higher
2 metal rings
2 heavy duty ceiling hooks
Optional: S-Shape hooks, clothespins, metal basket

Instructions
Mark 1 inch from the end of the dowel.
Drill a hole at the mark. Make sure the whole is big enough for paracord to go through.
Sand down the hole.
Repeat on the other end of the dowel.
Using an old t-shirt, stain the entirety of the dowel. Let sit until completely dry.
Tie one knot at the end of the paracord. We used a monkey’s fist knot.
Thread the other end of the paracord through the hole in the dowel until the knot touches the dowel.
Measure how the length between the ceiling and where you want the dowel to sit in the air. Leave that much room, plus about 10 inches extra, on the paracord.
Fold the extra 10 inches in half and insert a metal ring. Tie a double infinity knot and pull tight.
Repeat steps 6-9 with the other side of the dowel. Make sure the two paracords are even in length.
Drill a hole into the ceiling joist.
Tightly screw ceiling hook into the ceiling hole.
Repeat step 11-12 for the other side.
Use the hook and metal ring at the end of each rope to hang the dowel.
Attach S-Shape hooks on the dowel to create more hanging spaces.
Organize with S-Shape hooks, clothespins, and a metal basket.
