5 All-Natural Ways To Deep Clean Your Kitchen ─ BuzzFeed Nifty

Here is what you'll need!

Chemical-Free Microwave Cleaning Hack

Materials
1 lemon
Small bowl
½ cup water
Sponge

Instructions
Cut the lemon in half, and squeeze the juice into a bowl with ½ cup of water.
Microwave for 3 minutes (or until the water boils).
Let it stand in the microwave for five 5 minutes to let the steam loosen up the gunk.
Remove the bowl and the microwave turntable and wipe the inside clean with a sponge or paper towel.
For super caked-on messes, dip the sponge into the hot lemon water, and press it to the mess before thoroughly scrubbing.

How To Clean A Scorched Pan

Materials
Your poor abused pan
Cream of tartar
Warm water
A coarse sponge

Directions
1) Scrape out the charred remains of breakfast from your pan, and fill it with a cup of water so the bottom is completely covered.
2) Add the cream of tartar, and turn on low heat. Wait until it comes to a simmer for about 5-10 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
3) With a rough sponge, scrub at the scorched bits. They should come off way easier. Rinse and apply some more cream of tartar directly to the pan. Scrub in thoroughly. You should see any discoloration vanish, and the pan will become clean and shiny again. Don't forget the bottom!

Eco-Friendly Water Stains & Rust Cleaning Hack

Materials
One or two grapefruits
Kosher salt
Knife

Directions
1) Cut your grapefruit in half, and coat the halves in kosher salt.
2) You can scrub the salt in with your fingers a bit to saturate it so it will stick.
3) Scrub the half into a heavily water-stained faucet, or glass. The course salt will scrub off grimy build-up, and the citric acid will eat away water stains leaving a fresh, natural scent.
4) This works best on metal, porcelain, or glass surfaces. For tough stains, let the juice sit on the surface you are cleaning for about ten minutes after scrubbing.
5) You can remove water rings in a bathtub, as well as cloudy build-up on glasses and silverware.
(Note: This is for removing stains only, and won't necessarily remove germs and bacteria from dishes. Not a substitute for washing. Don't be nasty.)
6) Enjoy your shiny kitchen the environment will thank you for!

No-Chemical Oven Cleaner

Materials
Baking soda
Distilled vinegar
Mixing bowl
Spray bottle
Sponge
Rag
Copper sponge

2) In a small bowl, mix 1 cup baking soda and a teaspoon of water. Continue to add water, teaspoon by teaspoon, until it becomes a paste.
3) Spread the baking soda paste over all interior surfaces of the oven. Avoid heating elements. Let it sit overnight (at least 12 hours).
4) Spray vinegar over the baking soda areas and wipe away with a damp sponge or rag.
5) For tougher spots, spray with vinegar again and rub out with a copper sponge.
6) Wipe any remaining baking soda foam with a damp cloth. Replace oven racks.
7) Voila! Enjoy your clean oven.
