EASY FIREWOOD CARRIER
SUPPLIES
2 wooden dowels
Rope
INSTRUCTION
For this project I used a 2-foot-long dowel, but the length of the dowel can be anything length as long as it it a little longer than the length of the wood.
Cut 2 60-inch pieces of rope.
Tie a simple knot at the end of each rope.
Attach the rope onto the dowel using a cow hitch.
First, fold the rope to make a candy cane like shape.
Place the dowel over the rope.
Fold over the top loop and pull the rope through and cinch down tight.
Repeat the cow hitch on the other end of the dowel.
Tie knots on the other end attach to the other dowel using a clove hitch.
Place dowel on top of the rope. Have a good amount of slack for the entire knot.
Bring the rope back up (over the dowel) and thread it under the rope.
Thread the rope under the dowel.
Grab the other end and bring it down to create a âUâ.
Take the rope (b.) and thread it over and under the ropes that cross the dowel.
Pull any excess slack and tighten.
Repeat on other side.
To use the carrier, lay out the ropes straight. Make sure the wood will rest on top of the ropes. If not, adjust the ropes accordingly.
Stack the wood heavier on one side of the carrier.
Take the handle from the further side and wrap over the bundle.
Thread the dowel through the ropes to create a tight cinch. Remember to lift with your legs, not your back.
When you are transferring the wood into another container, no need to unload and reload. Just drop the bundle and unwrap the ropes. Pull out the rope from the sides and store the dowels away for when you need then next.
