Turn an old frame into a beautiful and space-saving laundry solution!

Here is what you'll need!

MATERIALS
1 old frame (we used a framed bulletin board)
Pre-cut 1x4-inch hardwood planks
2 pieces the length of the frame
2 pieces the width of the frame plus 2 inches*
*for stylistic overhang, you can add more or less depending on your liking
Pre-cut 1 inch deep x 1 inch wide hardwood planks
2 pieces the length of the frame
2 pieces the width of the frame minus ½ inch*
*to make room for cabinet lid supports on each side
½-inch hardwood dowel (length depends on how many bars your frame can fit)
2 cabinet lid supports (1 left, 1 right)
Waterproof paint
Varnish (optional)
Painting supplies (brushes, trays)
Drill
Phillips head drill bit for screwing
½-inch drill bit for making holes
Screws
French cleats set
Clamp
Sandpaper

INSTRUCTIONS
Paint and varnish pre-cut 1x4 inch wood planks. Let dry.
Screw wide side of each plank to each side the old frame to create another layer of frame.
Paint and varnish the pre-cut 1 inch deep x 2 inches wide wood planks. Let dry.
Line up the 2 longer pieces of 1x2-inch planks.
On the wider side of the planks, measure and mark even spaces between each dowel (which will serve as bars for hanging).
Clamp the two pieces of 1x2-inch planks together. Make sure they are lined up.
Using a ½-inch drill bit, drill through both pieces of wood on the markings you have made earlier. This will ensure the holes are lined up.
Screw the 4 pieces of 1x2-inch planks together to create the inner frame. Make sure the 1-inch side is facing up.
Insert a dowel between each set of holes. Saw down any excess. Sand. Paint and varnish optional.
Attach the inner frame to the outer frame using cabinet lids supports. Follow the instruction on the packaging.
Hang your Murphy drying rack on the wall using the french cleat system. You can purchase a set at your hardware store.
