How to Use Baby Powder as Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoos are not a new discovery. They have been around for many years now. Who would have thought of using baby powder to get rid of grease and oil from hair? Well, it can help prevent the hair from becoming too clogged with styling products.

The question is how to use baby powder as a dry shampoo alternative? They are handy items to have in your purse or travel bag, however, when it's not available, there can be times when you run out and need a replacement in a hurry. When this happens, use baby powder instead!

Having coarse, curly hair means you wash likely on a daily basis. However, this will dry the hair out completely robbing it of its natural oils, and this is not good. Even if your hair is fine, it will easily attract dirt and pollutants. No matter what type hair anyone has, washing it every day is not healthy!

To help keep the hair clean in between washing, some people rely on a particular dry shampoo for black hair or dry shampoo for colored hair. It's a great alternative to when you don't have the time or when washing is not an option. Others feel it's the chemicals which make it harmful. Besides, some brands are expensive.

Try using baby powder instead of spending money on shampoos. It could become the go-to way to get rid of oily hair and scalp.

When we wash hair every single day, the hair dries out, and the natural oils are stripped from the scalp. The natural oils are what make the hair silky and shiny. To skip a shampoo every now and then is perfectly okay. However, the hair begins to look dirty or greasy.

To combat this look, a dry shampoo will do or a tad bit of baby powder. Use the baby powder and skip a wet shampoo for another day. Sometimes, it's impossible to work a regular wash into the routine. Besides washing too often, it is not good for the hair. So, when you can't wash, use this alternative.

- Pour a baby powder into the palm.
- Start with just a little at first, equal to a half teaspoon
- Rub the hands together over a sink or towel to contain the powder waste
- Avoid rubbing too much, use just enough friction to administer the powder
- Massage the roots using the fingertips paying close attention to the parts with the most oil
- Continue doing this until baby powder is not visible
- Repeat if necessary
- Style hair
